Hi.
I have two queue managers QMA and QMB.
QMA is installed on a windows System, QMB on an i5.
I created a remote queue and a transmission queue on QMA which should send all messages to a queue on QMB.
this works, when both managers are on the same server (both windows).
when running qma on windows and qmb on an i5 i get a connection error, because the windows user name is not known on the i5.
how can i solve the userproblem without changing the windows user or the user on i5?`
hope you can help me.
regards,
steffen |

The easy answer is code an AS/400 UserID on the MCAUSER field of the receiver channel and grant it enough authorty using GRTMQMAUT.
The better answer is look into a security exit.

What is the error. Where are you seeing it. In you application, or MQ.
Are you still PUTting the messages to the remote Queue on QMA. If so, then they should still flow through to QMB no matter what IDs are used at each end. Unless you have changed the PUTAUT paramter at the receiver.

That won't make any difference on a receiver channel. (Unless AS/400 works differently from other platforms).

I was talking in the context of this problem. Where it could, actually, make things worse.
