Hi..Could anyone let me know the difference between the "Sender-Reciever" and the "Server-Requester" channel types and in which context are these to be used ?

you can look at those channel pairs as being principally identical in function with one exception: For the SDR-RCVR combination, the channel gets initiated from the SDR side, data flows from SDR to RCVR. In the SVR-RQSTR scenario, the RQSTR initiates the channel, yet the data still flows from SVR to RQSTR. The MQSeries Intercommunication manual will contain the juicy details.
The SVR-RQSTR combination can be used, for example, to 'pull' data from remote/distributed locations to a central location instead of having it 'pushed' by those queue managers. A central queue manager, which is getting unpredictable amounts of (batch) data from other boxes can control and throttle incoming messages this way. This is just one example I have seen at a customer, who had >500 distributed systems connecting to a central QMgr at the end of a business day to transmit batch data using dial-up ISDN connections and the number of available ISDN ports was limited. This way they solved the problem of channel retries due to unavailable ISDN ports by starting channels from the hub in a controlled way.
Others may have different use cases for choosing one over the other.

You can also use the SDR-RQSTR combination, the channel the can be initiated from both ends (if not stopped in the remote end!).
This is a usefull combination when exchange data with a remote site, then you are able to restart all channels from your end....
