I have a test configuration manger and broker at WMQI 2.1
However all our other development CMs and brokers are MQSI 2.0.2
My PC has the WQMI 2.1 control center on it - can I safely use this same CC to access the MQSI 2.0.2 systems?
I am referring to 2.1 CC and 2.0.2 CM/Broker combination - is it supported? The readme file only talks about the CM and broker combinations. |

I am in the same situation as you only we were at 2.0.1. When I try to connect to one of the 2.0.1 environments I get a message saying that I can't do that. So I would say no, that you need the control center to be at the level of your CM/Broker environment but that's just speaking from my own experience not a fact I read anywhere.

According to IBM, as long as your Control Center and your Config Manager are at the level release, both version (2.0x & 2.1) can use the same Config Manager to deploy your message flows. You need to download a PAR for broker. This is clearly documented in the readme file that comes with MQSI 2.1.
Hope this help. |

With respect that is not the issue.
We have six configuration managers and they will not migrate all at the same time to 2.1.
So developers will either be able to access the 2.1 CMs or the 2.0.2 CMs and not both from their PC - that's not very useful.
Is it really asking too much that the 2.1 CC be able to talk to 2.02 CMs in their "own" language. Compatibility used to be IBM's strong point. |

Hello,
The level of the control center and the level of the configmgr must be the same. Unfortunately, this is a requirement and will not be supported by IBM any other way. You all are correct about different versioning of configmgr and broker though.
