I need to repositon a newly created element. I have tried to drag it but to no avail. I could swear that I was able to dragg it in the past. I can not find anything in the manuals that would touch upon repositioning of the elements.

Could someone please help,

Frustrated

In MQSI V2.1 , there used to Reorder popup menu when you right click on the MessageTypes.

In WBIMB 5.0 , it as easy as drag & drop of fields in the message set editor. ( This is what i did , opened up a message set , went to the complex type , drag a element , wait for a line sort of thing that indicates field can be moved appears , now leave it - it reposistions itself. )

If you are not able to i suggest you to reopen the toolkit , probably its one of those IDE things ..

Message Set Definition File – Element Manipulation

Message Set Definition File\ Messages\Message (VehicleResponseMessage for exmample)

Once a message set definition file is created (.cpy import or manually) you can add, delete, modify or reposition the elements.

If you need to create the exact replica of an element – highlight and right click at the plus sign next to the element’s identifier then select copy. Later on you can rename it and adjust the length, padding, default values etc. via Properties Editor.
In order to paste the element into the message highlight the message identifier (under messages), right click then select paste. The new element will be created as the last element of the message.

If the newly created element needs to be repositioned, highlight the element then drag it to the position of your choice. Make sure that you see the cursor arrow pointing to the new position of your element. If you can not see the cursor arrow, the move will not succeed.

Hi EKhalil,
As u said u have dragged and dropped in the past, u r right, it works.

Now, R u trying to change the order in a complex type ?? Check whether the complex type is an ordered set or something....in such a situation i have found that my attributes would always come after elements, irrespective of when i define them....

I think if u use sequence it might get fixed...try them all i would say...u'll learn something in not anything else
