Hi all,
One of our queue managers (MQ5.3 on AIX) does not start anymore as one of the log files got damaged while the queue manager was down. Is there a way of restarting the Queue manager without the log file ?
We are using lineair logging but that doesn't seem to help when the logs get damaged while the queue manager is down...

Got the following solution from IBM (and it worked):
Quote:
Hello Ward,
1. Create a "dummy" qmgr with the same definition as the qmgr which can not
start (see qm.ini). DON'T START the qmgr.
2.copy files and directory under /var/mqm/log/dummy into
/var/mqm/log/<qmgrname> .
3. restart your qmgr
4. delete the dummy qmgr
Since you have new logs, you lost all information to commit or backout
messages but all persistent messages are still in the queue(s) (you don't
lost persistent messages).
