I'm relatively new at MQ, so bare with me..Please

We're running a 4 node OpenVMS(Alpha VMS version 7.21) Cluster with MQSeries version 2.21. I'm reading that with ver. 5.1 there is an OpenVMS cluster failover feature available that allows queue manager to be automatically restarted on a different OpenVMS node should the node running the queue manager crash.

My question: Is there anything available that would allow this with Ver. 2.21.

Hi Jeff,

Queue manager failover with a VMS cluster is NOT available with the 2.2 version, I'm afraid .

Although as MQ 2.2 for VMS is about to have its support withdrawn soon by IBM, you should be planning NOW to upgrade

Thanks Don...

It took me doing some reading and reseach yesterday, but I finally came to that realization and presented to my supervisor.

We are as of this moment looking to upgrade to V5.1, to utilize the OpenVMS cluster failover set feature.
