Hi,
I've just set up a simple flow to test the SendMail plugin. I get the TCP/IP host unknown error.

I've configured the node with the same SMTP server I use for outgoing mail from my Outlook Express. I can telnet the server on port 25. I've made no other settings in the node.

Am I missing something fundamental here?

/Martin

I'm beginning to suspect that I need to have my own mail-server isnatlled on my machine. If so, can you give me some hints sás how to set up a test environment?

OK, I got the TCP/IP problem out of the way. If I set the Name of the 'from' person to my regular mail-address, my external SMTP-server seems to kick in. Unfortunately, it kicks back an error message. I've got a dump from the trace on the failure terminal of the SendMail node:

Code:

  (0x01000010):XML        = (
    (0x01000000):Message = (
      (0x01000000):From    = (
        (0x02000000): = 'MARTIN@APRIRE.SE'
      )
      (0x01000000):To      = (
        (0x02000000): = 'MARTIN.RYDMAN@ZYSTEMS.SE'
      )
      (0x01000000):Subject = (
        (0x02000000): = 'Testar Subject'
      )
      (0x01000000):Body    = (
        (0x02000000): = 'Testar body'
      )
    )
  )
  (0x01000000):BLOB       = (
    (0x03000000):BLOB = X'3c4d6573736167653e3c4...'
    (
      (0x01000000):SendMailError = (
        (0x02000000): = '501 Bad address syntax

'
      )
    )
  )
)

Those addresses are correct, I've copied and pasted them into a regular e-mail, and they work. What is going on? Anyone done this and could help me out?

B.t.w. what's with both the XML and BLOB folder? Nothing worked until I emulated the supplied sample flow, and it clearly reads the message as XML, copies the whole message, and then *adds* a blobification of the message. ...eeeh?

Hi,

Problem solved (or rather evaporated). For some unknown reason the SMTP server I tried my flow on choked on the mail adress. Running against another server, it worked right away.
