The difficulties are that, in either the case of using WBIMB or the case of using InterChange server, you have to learn an entirely new product, with completely different tools and ways of doing things.
Neither of these products are simple, or easy to use or to learn. I highly recommend getting professional training, which you will have to pay money for. You certainly won't get free training here.
If WebSphere MQ is going to be a large part of your new infrastructure, I strongly encourage you to get MQ training as well. If it is not going to be a large part of your new infrastructure, then I would not bother with WBIMB and only use ICS.
Also note that ICS and WBIMB are completely different. You can not learn one and know how to use the other. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I would almost never go for ICS, personally, unless the budget were very tight.
The documentation for WBIMB clearly shows all of the input nodes and the transports that WBIMB can use - it is expanded since v2.1. In addition to MQ and SCADA, and anything you wrote a custom input node for, there is now support for HTTP, and "Real Time Transport".
And that's as much of your research as I'm going to do for you. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
