Hi,

i use a script to start the the windows service "MQSeriesService" using
net start MQSeriesServices and
net stop MQSeriesServices.

When i stop the service 5 minutes after starting it, it's ok but after a full working day, the service status remains as "stopping"

I look in the taskmanager and i see MQ process that should not be running like runmq... or amq.... So i stop all the process and then run my script and, Miracle it works !!

So my question is :
do i have to check the process in a script before stopping the service or is there a better way of dealing start/stop scripts ?
I'd realy like to know how do other people do

Thanks

Franck

It sounds to me like you need to specify the FAIL_IF_QUIESCING option on your qcf/q so that it will shutdown if WMQ is shutting down. I don't have my WSAD computer with me, so I'm not sure what the exact name of the parameter is....

Also if you run WebSphere Application Server and have an MDB listening to the queues it is prudent to shutdown WAS (at least the MDB service) before shutting down MQ.

Enjoy

-->fjb_saper : i was already doing this

-->bower5932 : i'm sorry but i didn't find this "FAIL_IF_QUIESCING option" so a litte precision would be helpfull.

I found that i was using a deprecated method :
"C:\Program Files\ibm\WebSphere MQ\bin\endmqm.exe"
instead of
"C:\Program Files\ibm\WebSphere MQ\bin\amqmdain.exe"

Thanks a lot

Franck
