I am running MQ on Unix. In the documentation on AdoptNewMCACheck
it says "AdoptNewMCACheck=NAME,ADDRESS is the default for FAP1, FAP2, and FAP3, while AdoptNewMCACheck=NAME,ADDRESS,QM is the default for FAP4 and later."

I have a hard time finding what is FAP1,FAP2 FAP3 and FAP4. Can any one help. I want to make sure that this does not apply to AIX and I do need to specify AdoptNewMCACheck as suggested by the manual.

This is in the MQ V6 intercommunication manual under
Configuration file stanzas. A search for 'AdoptNewMCACheck' in the info center will show the same thing.

So, if you want us to do the research for you, at least provide us the url.

If you want an official answer, go back to that page, click on the 'feedback' button at the bottom of the page.

My best guess is that it is an internal abbreviation for FixPack.

FAP - Format And Protocol

The level of the wire protocol used between qmgrs and clients.

No in-service version of MQ uses FAP4 or older. You can see the FAPLevel as one of the fields accessible to channel exits.

Thanks for the updates. Sorry that I was not speciffic on where to look for the information.
According to markt, No in-service version of MQ uses FAP4 or older. This means that AdoptNewMCACheck=NAME,ADDRESS,QM is the default for the mq that I am using. BTW. I am running V6 on AIX.
