May be it is MQseries specific, but since I am getting errors on workflow I am posting it here.
I have a NT machine with qmgr FMCONQM and a aix server hosting FMCQM queuemanager. Both these queue managers as per design need to be in cluster "XYZ". On AIX machine I am finding that FMCQM is memeber of cluster "FMCGRP1" and not "XYZ". I believe this could be the reaon why I am getting "Logon not possible" error on workflow.
My question is how can I make "FMCQM1" memeber of "XYZ" and not "FMCGRP1".
Please let me know the commands if any need to be used
Thanks |

That's too much of work and I am not sure if it will work. Can't you recreate the configuration on AIX.
OR, you can make FMCONQM part of the FMCGRP1 cluster and that's comparitvely easy to deal with. |

Logically yes. But realistic way, I can not. I am told to use standard cluster names "xyz" ( "xyz" may please be read as standard name).
hence if not today, someother day it need to be as per "standards" and would like to know how it can be done.
is there any document/steps I can follow?
thanks |

What you are trying to do is not easy to do. Even if you somehow managed to do it, it is not guranteed to work. If if it works, I am sure IBM is not going to support it.
The reason I say it may not work right is:
Workflow config utility creates queues. These queues will be named after the cluster name (or the group name ). For example
FMC.FMCGRP.EXE.XML
Here FMCGRP is the cluster name. Though these are alias queues pointing to queues which are not named after the cluster name, you will have to work out on what the queues are and how they are mapped to the real queues etc.
This is how I would go about doing it. (It may not work but this is just a suggestion)
1. Identify all the queues starting with FMC (or whatever the queue prefix is)
2. Identify the base queues for the queues identified above.
3. Define alias queues with the new cluster name
For example if the alias queue was
FMC.FMCGRP1.FMCSYS.EXE.XML, then define an alias queue
FMC.XYZ.FMCSYS.EXE.XML pointing to EXEXMLINPUTQ and the cluster as XYZ.
The queues for this pupose are defined in
fmczques.mqs file under /var/fmc/qmgrs/<qmname>/mqs directory
4. Alter the qmanager repos to XYZ
use fmczafrp.mqs file
5. Define a clusrcvr channel with cluster name XYZ
use fmczcfrt.mqs file for this
6. Define a clussdr channel with cluster name XYZ
You should point this to the other QMGR in the cluster. In your case FMCONQM. Look for the CLUSRCVR on the QMGR FMCONQM and define a CLUSSDR on FMCQM with the same name
See if this works. Let us know how successful you are on this. |
