Hi,
I am seeing this error in the error logs. The channel is in Retrying state. I recycled the channel and its still in retrying state. This setup was wroking fine until today.
This is the error from the error logs of queue manager QMA...

(X'0'). Record these values and tell the systems administrator.

After working on this for a while, I didn't see anything wrong with MQ. I think this is a network issue rather than MQ. Any ideas?
Environment: AIX 5.2, MQ 5.3.0.6 (QMA), MQ 5.3.0.7 (QMB)
No FDC's.
I searched for the TCP/IP return code 32 x('20') without any luck.
Any ideas/help will be much appreciated.
Thanks. |

The TCP/IP 32 code means BROKEN PIPE but I am not sure what that means.
Is the sender channel pingable?
Has it been modified recently?
Is port 1414 listenging on the QMB Server?
Is port 1414 LISTENING?
Is the Listener running there?
What is the status of the Receiver QMA.QMB?
Can you ping the remote server? _________________ Yes, I am an agent of Satan but my duties are largely ceremonial. |

After doing the ping test, trying doing a telnet session from ServerA to ServerB port 1414.
Sometimes pings work, but the telnet doesn't, in which case neither will the MQ channels.
Note that if you do get a good telnet session open, when you kill it, a harmless FDC will be prodoced on QMB. _________________ Peter Potkay

Thank You, csmith and peter, for your replies.
I worked on it for a while yesterday and was tired of it. Thought of working on it today and this morning surprisingly the channel was running. I don't see anymore errors in the error log.
I think that was a network issue.
Thanks again. |
