So this kept bugging me and I eventually figured I had to skin the cat*.

Rather than write a ton of gnarly code to parse the output I used my limited *nix knowledge and a lot of Googling and a LOT ...

It looks like the same problems with status will exist. It does at least shift the emphasis off parsing ...
