I have a pSeries 630, with 4 Power4+ 1.45 GHz CPU's and 8GB of RAM.
I think the putting rate is bound by the client application itself that can not produce more that 50 messages / second ...

More surprising testing: I run the client application on the 64-bit AIX kernel and send messages to the remote 32-bit AIX kernel witch hosts an MQ v5.0. server. Everything is OK.
