In most other environments and projects you typically wouldn't checkin '.project' type files into source control.

All,
i kind of side-tracked the issue. We've upgraded to IIB (WMB 9) which seems to have resolved the issue.

@mqjeff - thats what we're seeing - deleting the duplicates does resolve the issue but they then get added back in at some points.
