Thanks for that input. I read that section and realized that's the way to do it safely - and it minimizes the action on the remote servers.

One question: when I have removed the old A & B qm' ...

A & B are 5.3 and will be new 6.0, C & D are existing 5.3 (all Solaris).

I have a cluster in production with 4 qm's, call them A,B,C,D with the following roles:

A - full repos, B - partial repos
C - full repos, D - partial
A & B are being replaced (new servers) ...
