Oh I see what you mean now. I got it to work with ASBITSTREAM with your suggestion:

DECLARE tmprow ROW;
CREATE LASTCHILD OF tmprow DOMAIN 'XMLNSC';
CREATE LASTCHILD OF tmprow.XMLNSC ...
