I've got a message set modelled as TDS.

I'm trying to wrap an externally created records with a header and trailer.

I've got both formats defined, and thought I would be able to reuse the external record definition directly.

However, the external record is set up to model the line ending as a Group Terminator for the type. If I include this directly, then my new record has a line ending before the trailer, which breaks other processing of the converted message.

I'm fairly convinced that there's no way to access or manipulate a Group Terminator field from within ESQL, but am hoping someone else knows differently.

My other options are to change the model of the record to include the line-ending as an element, or to duplicate my record definition for the internal format without the group terminator.

Am I missing anything?
