This is from the online help for WBIMB.
Quote: |
Disk space requirements
The installation requirements depend on which components you install and how much working space you need. This in turn depends primarily on your use of WebSphere MQ resources such as queues and persistent messages.
The following table gives the approximate storage requirements (in megabytes) for each component:
Component MB
Broker 270
Configuration Manager 270
workbench 175
User Name Server 270
Online documentation 30
Samples and SDK 5
TOTAL 510
Each component (except Online documentation, and Samples and SDK) includes a set of common files. The values in the table above reflect this. If you install all the components, the total disk space used is less than the sum of the individual components, as shown in the total value in the table. This is also true if you install more than one component.
After installation, you need to create databases for the configuration repository, the message repository, and the broker tables, each of which requires approximately 10 MB of space. If you have user databases, additional space is required.
You might also need between 150 MB (for a broker or full installation) and 300 MB (for a custom installation) of additional space for temporary files. This space is required in the location pointed to by the TEMP system variable, not in the folder into which you install the product. These temporary files are deleted when installation has completed.
If you are installing DB2 as part of the WebSphere Business Integration Message Broker installation, you need an additional 420 MB of disk space.

The standalone version of the online help is available from WBIMB library. |

I belive it is for Windows 2000. Because we do not install Config manager and work bench on Linux. If you take MQSeries 5.3 installation, disk space required for linux is different from Windows.
Correct me .... _________________ Thanks,

Well, I'm not positive. But this quote was from a non-platform specific section of the installation guidelines. There were specific sections for Windows, Linux, etc.
If I read the quote above, I estimate that the Linux install would require less than 270MB (Broker) + 270 MB (User Name Server) + 35 MB (samples and docs) - xMB (Shared code). Guessing on the size of the shared code, you should be okay with 500MB free plus the 150-300 MBs of temp space mentioned.
But then you also need space for MQSeries and optionally space for DB2. |

Thank you, we decided to allocate minimum 2 Gb for MQ 5.3,DB2,WBIMB broker and working data. This is just for safe. _________________ Thanks,
