We just recently upgraded the MA88 java API and now we are expericing a new problem. We have an application that starts up x number of threads to process messages on a queue. Sometimes when this process is starting the threads it doesn't completely start all of them and everything hangs. For example, it will attempt to start 10 threads and only start up 7. I have noticed that the "Open Input Count" will stop at 13. If everything goes good the Open Input count will go higher and as the message are all done processing and we reached the configured timeout the threads will close the connection and end. The next message in will trigger a new java process that will start the threads again.
This problem can't be reproduced on demand, it happens intermittently.
This code has been running for two years and we have just recent been expericing this problem since we upgraded to MQ 5.2.0.6 and the latest MA88 upgrade. I have checked all of the MQ log files and nothing is being written out to these files. My java process is hanging and doesn't receive and exception.
What could be causing my application to hang? Could it be a MQ resource problem? Is there something different that I have to do when connecting to the queues with the new MA88 package?
Any advise would be appricated...
OS - AIX
MQ 5.2.0.6
The latest MA88.
JDK 1.3
