Hi guys,
I am having eneral question for JMS. Currently i am having MQSeries 5.1 is installed on my computer, On Windows2000 platform. Even i have installed java classes for MQSeries. (I do have JDK1.2 installed).
My question is, Can i write applictions(For sending, Receving,...PUB/SUB....) using JMS API ? If i can what should i setup on my system? I have downloaded supportpacs, MA88win.zip from IBM site.
I am having one more question.
Do i need to have Websphere 5.3 application server for using JMS?
(I have read thet we need to have application server, where we can get intial contxt from JNDI purpose, am i went wrong anywhere or is it correct?)
I am having Weblogic 5.0 on my m/c. so can we use this App server in contrast to websphere?

Thanks alot ...
Gopi.

To do Pub/Sub you also need a pub/sub broker. This can be MQSeries Integrator (MQSI) or SupportPac MA0C. There are many options available for JNDI like local file system, LDAP, APP server.

To get started, SupportPac MA0C and file system JDNI are probably the easiest. Then build from there.

To answer javiergvs, you need to download SupportPacs MA88 and MA0C from http://www-3.ibm.com/software/ts/mqseries/txppacs/

You also need to move forward from MQSeries 5.1. This is no longer supported, and I doubt that it will work with the latest MA88.
