I have two system configurations one with FMC, FMCSYS,FMCGRP. I could define in build time upes as UPESSERV.FMCSYS.FMCGRP. Under network tab I could find under domain, FMCGRP and FMCSYS.
Now I have another configuration FMC, FMCSYS1,FMCGRP1. Now how do I assosiate, in buildtime UPES? I would likie to add UPESSERV.FMCSYS1.FMCGRP1. But how do I dd this to network?

If your system groups are different, it means you have two workflow servers. One BuildTime can point to one server and you cant have two system groups in one BuildTime.
So if I undertood the question correctly, what you are asking is not possible.

Thanks. I do have FMC1 configuration on my standalone box. with FMCGRP1 and FMCSYS1 as the group and system ids. Unfortunately I did not create build time when I have created the configuration. Now If I would like to add build time how do I need to proceed. If I am using GUI for fmczutil, it was prompting me to use command line utilty since I have configured fmc1 to be web client. But on command line utility there is no provision for adding build time. However I have proceeded using the GUI utility provided. I got only one check box open as I have got already runtime and web client set up.
I have asked it to use existing runtime database but buld new "build time database" . Igot the following error.

Quote:
6/25/03 11:34:01 AM FMC33136I Generating database layout.
6/25/03 11:34:01 AM FMC33153W The managed by value for tablespaces belonging to group INDEX is not customizable.
6/25/03 11:34:01 AM FMC33110I The database manager is already active.
6/25/03 11:34:01 AM FMC33115I Creating the database - FMCDB1
6/25/03 11:34:01 AM FMC33116I Please wait... This may take a while.
6/25/03 11:34:01 AM FMC33146E DB2 API call 'sqlecrea' ended with error: 'SQL1005N The database alias "FMCDB1" already exists in either the local database directory or system database directory'.

I am not sure why it is trying to create the database in the first place when I am asking it to use the existing database.
Please help

Thanks

Create another configuration FMC2 with just buildtime in it and do not select anything else. When it asks you for the SYSTEM and GROUP give the values of FMCGRP1 and FMCSYS1. I guess it will also ask for the QMGR name.

You don't have to change the existing FMC1 configuration. Either way there is no difference except that you will have an extra configuration.

Can do what Venny said or you can just change the name of your Buildtime database and let it create it.

You are getting the error because you have a database with that name existing already and you are trying to create it again.

Just to make sure we are all clear on this. You should never use a single buildtime database for 2 different runtime targets. I.E each Runtime DB must have its own BT DB.

Having more than one BT point to any given runtime might give you some logistical problems, but it will definitely work.

GOOD LUCK

We need to give group name, system name and QMGR name. Whats the use of QMGR name if configuring only BuildTime?
Thanks

Andy:

The Queue Manager is not going to be used by buildtime, but there is a runtime Queue Manager object that is going to be built automatically when you define the new Buildtime DB.
