Has anyone tried MQ 5.3 (with or without CSD03) on the release of Windows Server 2003 ?
I might have goofed the install since the service installs, but I may have set up the user or groups wrong.
I did have the service start, but get errors when I try to create a QM.

I think (from memory here) is was local group mqm not defined, even thought the domain group is defined. It might be to do with me be logged on as "Administrator", but I don't think this user is a member of mqm (since Admin is a local, not domain, user).
I'll have another go later today. |

How did you get 5.3 installed on 2003? I tried intalling from scratch, but an error pop up, notified me that MQ 5.3 wasn't support on Windows XP and terminated the install. I've not figured out how to get past that.

There was nothing to "get past". The install allow me thru. I ran thru the pre-req steps and created the "Domain mqm" group and followed all the necessary steps there.
The pre-req test also failed to spot that I had a JVM installed the satisfied it's requirements.
However, it's a moot point since MQ crapped out when I installed CSD03. After that my QMgr wouldn't start and the MMC snap-in would barf (even though I also applied the IYxxxx patch too, which contained a bunch of IMQ*.DLL files as I recall).
So, for now I am back to Win2000 Server with WMQ 5.3. I'll wait for an official statement from IBM on support for Win2003 Server. |
