Hello
Does anybody has experience with Tivoli as moitoring software for WebShere MQ? At the moment we're using Patrol for WebShere MQ but the management strategy wants to leave from patrol. It would be great if anybody can provide me any informations or overviews how a tivoli environment has to be built up for MQ monitoring.
Thanks a lot... |

We have used Tivoli in the past to monitor MQ but found it lacking in functionality. It would monitor queue depth, QMGR status, channel status, etc... but would not handle complex conditons like queue depth with IPROC = 0. I understand that the newer version of Tivoli has been enhanced but we invested in Candle for MQ monitoring.
Our Tivoli setup was pretty straight forward. Tivoli agents running on all MQ servers and talking to Tivoli console server. I can ask our Tivoli administrator any specific question you might have on its configuration. I only handle MQ Series configuration. _________________ Bob Perry

Forget about Tivoli
If you can't create your own (I used perl and Big Brother to make my own), look into QPasa, Candle and BMC Patrol (which for some reason you won't be able to use). And, don't bother with CA Unicenter either. |
