We are modelling a business process in which will be using print server to print document pertaining to the work instance while it is being processed. I am very much new to using print server. If somebody is already using this in their application, please let me know how it works?
Thanks |

Print server is not Workflow related server. It is a printer that prints documents taking input from workflow. (how???.. that is what I would like to know)
Thanks |

I have no Experience with this, but I suppose this is how it should work.
Have a UPES defined which recieves your printer activities. have a program take the document pointer and invoke the print server.
Upes will start the program, the input container of the activity will contain a pointer to the document. Have the Program retrieve the document and send it to the PrintServers queue. _________________ -Ratan |

You have to do some coding in your Activity Program. There is no way you can ask the Workflow system to do it for you automatically. Depends on which imaging system you are using and what programming languages you are using, there are API's available. We are using IBM's Content Manager V7.1 and our applications are written in VC++ and VB. If you need more details, I can help. |
