I have a very simple perl program that runs on a sun server running solaris 8 with the MQClient 5.2 installed. The client connects to an NCR box with MQSeries Server 2.0 installed.
It is my understanding that when the MQClient remotely connects to a quemanager, the client utilizes/attaches to shared memory on the client sun box.
When I use the ipcs -a command, and run the simple perl program, I see that with each complete cycle of connecting and disconnecting from the MQServer, there is one more process attached to the same shared memory segment. The only way the process detaches from the shared memory is if the process is killed. Eventually I reach the kernal maximum setting for SHMSEG, which I have set to 2048, and the perl program core dumps.
I would assume that the MQClient would be responsible for cleaning up this attachment to shared memory upon issuing the disconnect from the quemanager that resides on the remote server???
One possibility i am thinking of is that perhaps the client is waiting for the server to give some kind of acknowledgement, but fails for whatever reason to receive it. Thus the client never releases the attachment to shared memory.
If someone could give me some clue what I am missing or misunderstanding here, I would greatly appreciate. If I am not clear in this email, please feel free to ask for more info from me...
Thanks,
Kent. |
