Hi,
i was wondering if there is a tool out there ( preferrable free ) which can provide me with information about how many messages went through a queue within a minute or hour or so.
If there isn't, which API do i have to use to do it myself?
Thanks for any comments!!
Cheers

Frodo,
Our QN-StatWatch product is not free but can do what you are asking.
QN-StatWatch is the industry's first browser-based WebSphere MQ and WMQI support solution that provides you with a centralized approach to easily obtain the statistics you need to optimize, track messages end-to-end, audit, and chargeback for MQ usage. It combines a common architecture with customization capabilities and a state-of-the-art reporting facility to provide administrators, system architects, and MQ managers with a total MQ reporting solution that reduces costs significantly while providing extremely granular information regarding queue, queue manager, and channel data with rock-solid security.

A lot of people don't know that Windows MQSeries Queue Manager provides performance data on queues to the standard NT/2000 performance monitor.
So if you run PERFMON on NT/2000, you can graph the message enqueue rate or dequeue rate on one or more queues and of course you can even monitor it remotely from another Windows desktop. |

That's exactly what I was looking for I think (NT Perf Mon). Should that be enough to give us some rough estimates on the volume of messages going through the queue?
Also, is there any facility in MQ that logs the messages that have been sent? _________________ Leigh Kendall |
