I get the following error when i am using the above specified drivers its workin fine if i use oracle driver.
See the following messages for details of the error.
2003-03-14 11:19:41.264999 4528 RecoverableException BIP2519E: (1, 1) : Error executing SQL statement 'SELECT UI.user_id FROM um.userinfo UI WHERE (UI.login)=(?)' against datasource 'x' with parameters ''BDMOBU01', '.
The following error occurred during execution of a database SQL statement against datasource 'x'. The SQL statement was 'SELECT UI.user_id FROM um.userinfo UI WHERE (UI.login)=(?)'. The parameters passed were ''BDMOBU01', '.
2003-03-14 11:19:41.264999 4528 DatabaseException BIP2321E: Database error: ODBC return code '-1'.
The message broker encountered an error whilst executing a database operation. The ODBC return code was '-1'. See the following messages for information obtained from the database pertaining to this error.
Use the following messages to determine the cause of the error. This is likely to be such things as incorrect datasource or table names. Then correct either the database or message broker configuration.
2003-03-14 11:19:41.264999 4528 DatabaseException BIP2322E: Database error: SQL State 'IM001'; Native Error Code '0'; Error Text '[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver does not support this function'.
The error has the following diagnostic information: SQL State 'IM001' SQL Native Error Code '0' SQL Error Text '[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver does not support this function'
I do want to use the driver given by MQSI 2.1 can somebody help me solve this .
Its sought of urgent.

Hi "artham",
When configuring WMQI and Oracle and an error is returned with a 'Driver does not support this function'
then typically the reason is that you have not enabled "SQLDescribeParam".
Refer to the WMQI Admin Guide, Chapter 3, Defining an ODBC connection for the broker database
(which is also applicable for a user database), ODBC on Windows NT, Oracle 8
- Under the Advanced tab of the driver settings, ensure that the Enable SQLDescribeParam box is checked.
Your error also shows you are using passed in parameters which requires this functionality.

can i use the same ODBC driver with Oracle 9i even though it says its for oracle 8 |

Yes, you can use WMQIv2.1 with Oracle 9iR1 (9.0.1) using the WMQI supplied "MERANT 3.70 Oracle8 Driver". _________________ Regards, Ian |
