I've got a page set that no longer has any messages or storage classes associated with it. A DISPLAY USAGE command shows all pages are unused. I'd like to delete it.

To get MQSeries to stop using it, can I simply remove it from MSTR's JCL? The manual describes adding, shrinking and enlarging, but so far I haven't seen anything about removing.

Yes, removing the pageset from MQ startup procedure will do.

Thanks Marcin. But can I ask if you are sure about this? The reason I'm especially worried is because I don't have authority to update SYS1.PROCLIB. So if it turns out that MQSeries doesn't come up on Sunday morning because it thinks I'm missing a pageset, I'll have to find someone with authority to change the JCL.

Last weekend, I tried to just replace this pageset with a small one. But at MQSeries startup it "grew" back into its original size (even though there weren't any messages on the pageset). The queue manager then died because of RBA inconsistencies (RC=00D1032A). So the BSDS and logs "remembered" what the page set was supposed to look like, and how big it was.

But thanks again, and it would sure make my weekend easier if I could simply remove it from the JCL.

I explaind earlier how to delete/reduce the size of a page set, here is the link:

When just deleting the pageset, just take step 1-6

Just my $0.02

Thanks. It makes sense that the procedure for deleting a pageset is similar to the one for shrinking a pageset. I wish it was easier, but I understand.

And I would have totally forgot to remove the bufferpool assignments from CSQINP1. So thanks again.
