I have two broker instances each with their own DB/2 instances in a HACMP installation. I have an application database in DB/2 instance #2 (say inst2) with database name PDATA but generic name DATA.

I would have thought having an ODBC.INI with stanza [DATA] referring to database PDATA would give access to this, but, I had to create a DB/2 Alias DATA for PDATA to get this to work.

Also, the broker in inst1 cannot access the application database in inst2. Can someone throw some light on:

Relationship between ODBC name and database name/alias.

Broker using inst1 accessing database in inst2 via ODBC?

Thanks! I'm sure it's in the docs. but you know how it is ...
