Hi,

I had two versions of MQ installed on my server.

bash-4.4$ dspmqinst
InstName: Installation1
InstDesc:
Identifier: 1
InstPath: /opt/mqm
Version: 9.1.0.11
Primary: No

InstName: Installation2
InstDesc:
Identifier: 2
InstPath: /app/mqm
Version: 9.3.0.5
Primary: No

I stopped all queue managers, I removed the 9.1.0.11 binaries and the Installation1 with the following command

dltmqinst -n Installation1 -p /opt/mqm

Currently I have only one installation:
bash-4.4$ dspmqinst
InstName: Installation2
InstDesc:
Identifier: 2
InstPath: /app/mqm
Version: 9.3.0.5
Primary: No

How can I rename Instllation2 to Installation1 ?

Many thanks

There's no official command to do a rename.

But you can always edit (carefully, and with sudo) /etc/opt/mqm/mqinst.ini

Can you use crtmqinst and dltmqinst as a safer way to edit mqinst.ini?

i.e.

addmqinst -n Installation1 -p /app/mqm

dltmqinst -n Installation2

These are official commands. Is this an appropriate set of steps @markt ?

Cheers,
Morag
