Hi,

We are planning to move some of the applications to cloud. currently these apps connect to QM using client mode. What would be the best solution for connecting apps running in cloud to on premisis QM? Do we have any design patterns?

I am thibking to propose a gateway QM in the cloud and use p2p connections from gateway QM to on premisis QM.

Or to simplify Can we directly allow apps in the cloud to connect directly to QM using client connections?

It is OK for Cloud apps to use MQ Client connections to an on-premise non-cloud server. We do it. It is probably more reliable and stable that setting up a MQ qmgr gateway in Cloud.

Think of all Cloud servers as ephemeral / crash & burn / disposable. If your suggested gateway qmgr or its server dies, what is the impact, and how quickly can it be rebuilt / recovered?
