Hi,
Does anybody know if it's possible to disconnect a broker from its CM and connect it to a different CM with all msgflow and msgset retained?
I tried to delete broker's reference in CM and then delete a physical broker. After that, I recreated it by using old db and qm but I found actually all the message sets and message flows have been removed after I configure another CM to pick it.
I am thinking maybe it's not doable. Any information about this would be highly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
Regards

Well, the configuration manager database contains your message flows, message sets are stored into MRM database. If you are planning to migrate existing data (Msg flow and msg set) to the new Config mgr then make a copy of existing CM and MRM Db and use these db when creating new configuration manager. _________________ Kiran

Thank you, Kirani,
I won't create a new CM but let another existing CM manage a broker which has been managed by its previous CM. Also I can't make a copy of existing CM and MRM db since its db2 software is corrupted, which is the reason why I need to do this.
If this can't be done, it would mean that if CM is gone, we have no way to get any information out from all its runtime environments (brokers).
Any comments or ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

Yanghui,
If you are saying that the old configuration manager and MRM database is corroupted and you don't have the exported message flows/sets or a backed-up copy of these databases then I don't think there is a way to get source code (Message flows and message set).
Without your old configuration manager you can still use the boker but you will not be able to deploy (or change) anything to this broker.
I guess you will have to first delete the existing broker, which was connected to the old config mgr and then recreate the broker with same broker database, then add this Broker to existing (new) CM.
In a development environment It's always good to export your message flows/sets on daily basis. _________________ Kiran
