I have a client who recently converted a configuration to use clustered queue managers. They realize that with using the MMC GUI for management, they can see all of the clustered resources within a vendor's queue manager. They are now concerned about the vendor being able to see all of its resources, especially those not associated with the vendor.
If they were to use a maintenance/monitoring tool, can the view be limited so that Company A can only see the clustered resources in Company B that B wants it to see? i.e. Company A does not want Company B to see other queues, etc, that may be associated with separate applications and visa versa.
I expect I can achive the same net result with multiple overlapping clusters, but want to know if by using a tool this can be avoided.
thanx...

I don't know of any tool that can do this. However, with some tools such as Candle, I believe that you can set up filters for viewing and I suppose in this way if company A's queues started with "UK.A.*" and company B's queues started with "UK.B.*" then you could set up separate views for each user to isolate them.
Not ideal I know! |
