Hi,
We have upgraded the passive node of a 2 node MSCS cluster from MQ 7.0.1.0 to 7.5.0.3. Installation1 MQ 7.5.0.3 is the Primary (and only) installation.
Obviously the HA qmgr Prefix directory is not available, because the resource (G:\LocalApp\MQSeries) is currently active on the other node, and the qmgr is running over there.
How / when are the new qmstatus.ini and qm.ini files created for the qmgr?
Is it when the qmgr resource is first started by MSCS after failing over to the upgraded node?
Have I missed something completely here? _________________ Glenn

Yes.
I've done this on some VM test rigs and just as if you were upgrading a single node the QMGR files are not updated until the QMGR is started by the new version for the first time.
This is why you MUST take a file level backup of the QMGR Data, logs and even the registry before you failover (best done with the MQ respource stopped!) so that you can fail back if other things go wrong. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.
