I have a project that has few message flows and ESQL nodes. Every time I change some thing in flow or ESQL node I need to build my project, create a bar out of it and then deploy it.[Note: I have disabled the auto build option.]

I was wondering what exactly it does or update in the file system where my project resides ?

Does it compile the flows when I am building it and put the compiled piece of information somewhere in the file system ?
Or does that happen when I actually create a bar out of it by selecting the resources that I want to include in the bar? And if that is that case, what is the need of building the project?

So basically I want to know what happens when building a project ?

Kindly provide inputs on it.
