Hi ,
I have created a multiinstance QM & Broker setup in windows domain , in the production server the password of all user id's will be changing for every 30 days, QM & Broker also using same user id & password. in this case what will be the impact ? , can u give me any best practice steps for this .
a) is this better to keep the password as" Never expired " ?
b) Should i change the QM & Broker password every month ?
(i) If i need to change QM & broker password where all i need to change in windows environment

IMHO, it is a disaster that is certain to happen if you let the password of critical services on your system expire every month/defined period.
What happens when the password expires over say, Christmas? Eid? etc.
I know that some IS Security people get all uppitty when asked abou this but there are ways to oversome any issues arond not having the password expire and sysyem security.
The best method I have come upon is to actually get the Security people involved with things like creating the brokers. Then they can set the passwords and with the proper safeguards, they don't have to tell you what they are.
There is still an issue (IMHO) about who watches the watchers but that is for another time. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.
