Ok so you have managed to 'fix' the issue. In reality, you are just hiding it.
Do you not think that the WSDL/xsd you are validating against might be different from the one that is generating the SOAP request in the first place?
What happens in Production when you get a badly formed SOAP Message? Will your error handling detect and properly handle this.
