Hi,

We are currently running WebSphere MQ 5.3.12 without gskit installed.

We are looking to use SSL in some future project work and are in planning phase.

My question is can i install GSKit seperately so that we can use SSL for our channels without having to stop our queue managers on the box as we run 24*7 at high traffic rates and cannot afford much downtime. I dont know if I will be able to bring down the production queue managers so may need to look at getting new hardware in if I cannot upgrade.

We do have a migration plan to V6 next year where I can install gskit but I would prefer not to have to wait unitl that is finished before implementing SSL.

Does anyone have experience of migrating to SSL on a production system where SSL supports was not installed.

Any info appreciated

Gskit can be installed anytime it is not dependent on MQ, ( I guess it is gsk6bas or gsk5bas )

the real issue is with ,MQM-KEYMAN WebSphere MQ SSL Key management, and this fileset needs to installed with MQSeries Software.

AFAIK , the only way to upgrade is to have the downtime , i.e to shutdown the

pkgparam mqm CLASSES, should list what is installed

Why wouldn't you have a plan to go to IBM MQ V7.0.1 then immediately to V8?

This thread dates from 2006. Why did you open this one again? What was the purpose of your post?

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

A worthy associate has pointed out that KeeferG (whom I quoted) must have deleted his post before I hit the submit button... You will notice an odd gap.

I guess that's what the "Preview" button is for (but I wasn't paying that close of attention).
