Hi,
For my understanding I have done the below setup in my laptop,
I had 32bit RHEL 6.1 is installed in VMware box.
I have installed MQV6.0.2.3 trial version software on it and created a qmgr XXX and started it.
after that, I have properly shutdown the qmgr and after taking the file system back up also, i have uninstalled MQV6.0.2.3 and installed MQV7.0.1.3 and then started the qmgr. It went to running state.
Now, I have shutdown the qmgr and uninstalled MQV7.0.1.3 and installed MQV6.0.2.3 but qmgr din't come into running state. Good as expected.
Here, I have re-copied my old /var/mqm back up which is in MQV6.0.2.3 file format. And trying to bring up the qmgr. its not working.
I am not even able to delete the queue manager or can't uninstall the MQV6.0.2.3 as it give below error.
" You seem to have an MQ queue manager still running. You must stop the
processes by using the endmqm command before trying to uninstall the package.
error: %preun(MQSeriesSDK-6.0.2-3.i386) scriptlet failed, exit status 1"
same is displayed for other processes also. Any one faced this issue before? |

forgot to mention ..
while starting the queue manager with MQV6 installation its giving below error.
WebSphere MQ queue manager 'QMV61' starting.
AMQ5615: Default objects cannot be created: CompCode = 2 Reason = 2059.
after going through couple of posts, checked through the files system /var/mqm for any unwanted files but nothing found. |

Tried rebooting the system but still
while deleting the queue manager, I get the below Error
"AMQ8101: WebSphere MQ error (893) has occurred."
not able to start the existing XXX qmgr.
I tried creating another qmgr DUMMY but that also failed with below error.
bash-4.1$ crtmqm DUMPQM
AMQ7019: An error occurred while creating or checking the directory structure
for the queue manager.
Strangly, no FDC's nothing written into /var/mqm/errors.
Any details where it could have gone wrong. And how to come out of this deadlock? |

Most probably file permission errors or some error in the mqs.ini file in /var/mqm/ Did you also recover that file to the pre V7 state? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

You could try running (as root) amqicdir -i -f, that should reset the ownership and permissions on the /var/mqm directory structure to the way they were at installation. _________________ Philip Morten
