I had Websphere Message Broker 7.0.0.5 64-bit installed on Windows 2008 R2.
I tried to deploy a message flow with a WTX map and I couldn't. The IBM suggestion was to un-install WMB 64-bit and install WMB 32-bit.
So I did it using Control Panel.

I am trying to install WMB 32-bit using mqsilaunchpad.exe:
It shows WMB v7.0.0.1 checked and as "Pending"
I launch the installation; accept all default options;
The error:
Errors occurred during the installation.
Unable to install IBM WebSphere Message Broker 7.0 over IBM WebSphere Message Broker: Installed product has newer version.

Again following IBM suggestions to delete any leftover folders I deleted:
D:\program files\ibm\MQSI

But the problem still persists; is there any place I need to update/change/delete to allow the installation?

Now that you deleted the folder instead of uninstalling you probably have also to clean up the registry... And if this computer has multiple instances of WMB installed you might be SOOL as it might only allow a new installaton at or below the latest install level......
