Hi,
We have DP as front end and MB as middle layer.
On Dev, we have only one stand alone MB server. So, on Linux Server, we have BRK1 defined and EG1 & EG2 defined on the Broker. We assigned ports 8001 to EG1 and 8002 to EG2. All is well here.
On UAT, we are using Multi-Instance Brokers. So, on Linux Server 1, we have BRK1 (Active) and BRK2 (Standby), on Linux Server 2, we have BRK1 (Standby) and BRK2 (Active). We have both the Brokers mounted to NFS. We defined EG1 and EG2 on both the Brokers. Now, we have to assign ports for these two Broker EG's BRK1: EG1 & EG2 and BRK2: EG1 & EG2. Since we cannot assign the same ports to different EG's we need to introduce 8003 & 8004 in addition.
The DP guy on the front end says he cannot support this in LBG. Does any one know how this can be done in DP. We want messages sent to active Brokers BRK1 on Server 1 and BRK2 on Server 2 as Roundrobin and when Server 2 crashes, DP send requests to Server1 BRK1 and Server 1 BRK2. |

I am not sure if anyone understood my question...so, i am trying to make it clear...
Linux Server 1
************************************
Broker 1 (Active)
EG1: Port 8001
EG2: Port 8002
Broker 2 (Passive)
EG1: Port 8003
EG2: Port 8004
************************************
Linux Server 2
************************************
Broker 1 (Passive)
EG1: Port 8001
EG2: Port 8002
Broker 2 (Active)
EG1: Port 8003
EG2: Port 8004
************************************
Can DP do the load balancing on the above scenario where Broker 2 on Linux Server 2 fails and Broker 2 on Linux server 1 takes over and DP can route messages to this Broker. |

Sounds like a DataPower question, not a WMB / IIB question.
My guess is that the answer will be 'yes, it can'. But don't take my word for it. _________________ Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away, and you have their shoes too. |
