I have been excited about the potentials of pattern authoring since it was introduced, but was wondering how others might be implementing the tool. My question is less focused on how to author patterns, but more around their testing and delivery. With that in mind, I'd be very interested to hear more from the broker community on the following.
1) In environments with a separate code management team, how are people handling pattern compilation? In our environment, for instance, even message flows are compiled using ant scripts. I tried monitoring the command line during a pattern creation from the toolkit, but didn't see any executable. Could a pattern even be compiled from an ant script?
2) Is the pattern instance being source controlled? I'm very curious to know how often the instance would get used and for what purpose. What about the pattern source?
3) Are patterns being tested on their own by a QA team? The use of a quality exemplar could play a factor here.
I'm not looking for anything definite, here. Instead, I'm just curious about the strategies and success stories for this tool.
Thanks,
