I just started getting hands-on experience with WMB8 and I had to reinstall due to system reimage.
Now, I am unable to reinstall the WMB toolkit. The rest 3 components are loaded good. However, I can't figure out what is causing the toolkit to fail.
It is not creating the log file as well in the location which it mentions in the error message. The error message is
Quote: |
Error during "install" phase:
Error executing the C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\SDP80\wmbt\vcredist_x86_2010sp1.exe command: status=740. For more information, see the agent log file: C:\ProgramData\IBM\Installation Manager\logs\native\20131003_1531.log |
My laptop is Windows 7 and I am trying to install WMB toolkit 8.0.0.0. Please let me know if more information is required.
I don't have any visual studio now. There was 2008 version, which I uninstalled. |

A quick google for
vcredist error 740
showed lots of similar errors. May I humbly suggest that you do the same? _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Thanks for the reply! I did search myself for the resolutions before posting here. I did try to follow those instructions. Installing manually 2010 VC++ redist. Uninstalling the Visual studio 8. However, the installer will try to install it again and fail. When I install manually, I don't see any error or challenges. |

Did you look to see what versions of the vcredist are installed?
One of the solutions was related to the fact that the user who tried to install it didn't have the priviledge to overwrite the old version. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

I'm the administrator for my machine. The IBM Installation Manager tries to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 redistributable and Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable version. The installation of 2005 version succeeds and right after that it starts installation of 2010, which fails without leaving any trace. I'm able to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable manually. However, every time I start installation of the WMTK, the installation manager would try to again install the 2010 version, regardless of there is already one existing or not and fails. |
