Testing SSL flow using SOAP UI

We followed the below documentation for implementing SSL on v8.0.0.2 Broker and single Execution group.

We changed the message flow to "Use HTTPS" on SOAP Input node and deployed on the Broker execution group that has SSL enabled. We have Datapower as front end in DMZ. Before we hand over the server cert, we wanted to test this using SOAP UI tool and we are getting response back.

Isn't Soap UI supposed to refuse the connection because we have not added server certificate to SOAP UI tool? Does this mean SSL is not enabled right way on Broker or SOAP UI does not need ssl cert because we are testing from inside the network?

No, not if mutual authentication is not enabled, which it is not by default.

Can we enable mutual authentication for self-signed certificate?

We want to enable SSL between Datapower (client) to MB (server) and test between SOAP UI (client) to MB (server).

Yes, as long as the cert is valid in all respects. Don't cut corners when filling out the cert.
