This may sound weird but I am having this problem. We had a server restart where MQ and broker is installed. Now after restarting the machine, I have started both the processes, MQ and Broker processes and it does show me as running when I have logged in as MUSR_MQADMIN. But when I try to log in as one simple user, it doesn't show me as expected.
I mean the symbol besides the name of Queue Manager and Broker is green but I cant expand the selection and can't see the queues and execution groups. I have also done mqsilist and it shows me that broker is stopped and strangle when I am using mqsistart <mybrokername>, then it shows me that the process is already running.
Also this server is one centralized server and we use client toolkit for development purpose. But when i try to connect that remote broker from my local, it gives me the error that the broker is not running.
It seems very very weird to me as all is well when I am logging in as an ADMIN but not all good when I am logging in as simple user. |

It is as if there were some kind of security measures in place. |

I have heard about refreshing the securtiy params by restarting QM.
On Z-Os there is one command named REFRESH SECURITY *, but cant find the same for WINDOWS. |

First off, you mis-spelled z/OS . Secondly, don't shotgun ideas to fix a problem. Work the issue. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

It's absolutely not a problem in any sense.
It is absolutely positively working correctly.
Users that are *authorized* to see and administer and work with MQ are able to see and administer and work with MQ.
Users that are *not* authorized to see and administer and work with MQ are *not* able to see and administer and work with MQ.
If you want to "fix" this problem by doing entirely the wrong thing, and continue to fail to spend any time learning and understanding MQ and broker security, you should simply put your "simple user" into the group mqm.
Or you can do the right thing, and *read*, *think*, *try* and *repeat*. |

thanks mqjeff, I googled this solution about 3 days ago and I have tried that one. I am already in the grp MQM, also I have tried to remove my self from the grp and added again. Then for the sack of refreshing security parameters, I have restarted MQ.
But still having the same issue.
Bottomline, I am in mqm group, tried restarting MQ, viewed mqauthentication params by dspmqaut command and will do more if you suggest me...[/b] |

Your lack of knowledge is causing this issue. There are remedies for that. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

you may want to check the checkbox on the MQ service to allow interaction with the desktop... _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

MUSR_MQADMIN does not require to check that check box for allowing service to allow interaction with the desktop... |
