Hi All,

2 weeks back I had posted for solving rediscovered EG problem in MB 6.1 . I solved it, but the same network broker is behaving miscellneosly.

It takes half an hour to deploy new MSG flow objects and an interesting one is, I created a new EG which was visible only in Toolkit but not in command console (mqsilist) for half an hour.

what can be done to improve the speed and efficiency ?

is there a communication problem with broker and configuration manager ?

I had changed the primary log files and secondary log files in QM.ini file to 10, is there anything more to be done for the logs ... ?

Why bother? That version is obsolete.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

I would think that there is not a communication problem between your config mgr & broker since the deploy works eventually.

Your previous post concerned broker synchronisation problems. Are you finding that the deploy takes longer because the synchronisation/discovery is happening at the same time? You may wish to reduce how often the discovery happens. Read this old thread for example: http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=293335

Also, which fixpacks do you have on 6.1? (The latest I hope - and that you have aspirations even if not management support yet to upgrade broker )
You will for example want to make sure you have this fix: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1IC66516 and of course read/try the setting of environment variable MQSI_COMPRESS_CBROKER_TABLE as described in that link.

But of course upgrading would be best to improve the speed & efficiency of deploys.

Thank you vmcgloin.

We are using v6.1 with FP 2, but soon we will upgrade it to Fix pack 11.

hope this will make our network broker handle deployments better and faster ...

I downloaded Fixpack 11 for V6.1 from the current FP 2 and applied the patch, but at the end of the installation i got and error msg saying " product was not updated, see the logs for more details" .

i could not find the logs in the usual folder, C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM\MQSI\common\log.

Also when i open the command console i am seeing the version as 6.1.0.11 ..

need suggestion on what to do for this situation ...

the logs in question are not the broker logs, they're the installation logs.

there's probably a file in the windows temp directory.

or if you dig through the docs on installing/updating, it should mention where the installation log file goes.

I installed the upgare FP 11 to MB 6.1.0.2, the install logs will be at C:\Documents and Settings\"username" folder ...

initially the upgrade gave error that product not updated, but later after trying few times it installed without errors ..

in the logs I am having a install status = 3 ..

is this successfull upgrade or a failure .. where to look for meaning of this status codes ?
