Hello.

I'm new to administering WMB. We have WMB 8.0.0.1 on AIX 6.1. Yesterday, we had a problem with our inodes reaching nearly 90% capacity on our /var/mqsi2 directory.

Upon inspection, I noticed many files that had the "rmv" extension repeated many times. For example:

/var/mqsi2/mqsi/components/ESBTST02MB/9ba836df-3a01-0000-0080-e6734626c8e4/config/SCHEMA/MeterOperationsMsgModel.mqsiLibrary/MeterOperations_InlineSchema1.xsd.rmv.rmv
/var/mqsi2/mqsi/components/ESBTST02MB/9ba836df-3a01-0000-0080-e6734626c8e4/config/SCHEMA/MeterOperationsMsgModel.mqsiLibrary/MeterOperations_InlineSchema1.xsd.rmv.rmv.rmv
/var/mqsi2/mqsi/components/ESBTST02MB/9ba836df-3a01-0000-0080-e6734626c8e4/config/SCHEMA/MeterOperationsMsgModel.mqsiLibrary/MeterOperations_InlineSchema1.xsd.rmv.rmv.rmv.rmv
/var/mqsi2/mqsi/components/ESBTST02MB/9ba836df-3a01-0000-0080-e6734626c8e4/config/SCHEMA/MeterOperationsMsgModel.mqsiLibrary/MeterOperations_InlineSchema1.xsd.rmv.rmv.rmv.rmv.rmv
/var/mqsi2/mqsi/components/ESBTST02MB/9ba836df-3a01-0000-0080-e6734626c8e4/config/SCHEMA/MeterOperationsMsgModel.mqsiLibrary/MeterOperations_InlineSchema1.xsd.rmv.rmv.rmv.rmv.rmv.rmv

What do these rmv extensions represent? are they previous gens of a given file? Does broker remove them itself or do we need to remove them? I can't find a mention in the infocenter about rmv files, so I'd like to think this is just internal and not for us to touch.

You should not be managing any of these files. They are internal broker files, and if your filesystem is full, you need to add more inodes or MBs to the filesystem. WMB makes extensive use of the file system and a few of the more larger WMB installations can have several million files in use at a given time (rare, but possible).

Disk space is the least expensive resource a company will ever buy. Add more. Save yourself some downtime.

ABSOLUTELY CORRECT !

Everything under ../components/ is internal and not for you to touch.

In general, everything under /var/mqsi is internal and not for you to touch, except where specifically mentioned.
