Hi,
We have a solaris 9 branded zone on solaris 10 containers and are trying to install MQ v6.0.2.9 on this solaris 9 zone. MQ does get installed but we are having problems creating the queue manager.
AMQ6109: An internal WebSphere MQ error has occurred.
Probe ID being generated in FDC - XC303040 - led us to the below link from IBM :
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21330612
The patch 137111 is a solaris 10 patch and is applied on solaris 10 container.
Has anyone installed MQ V6.0.2.9 on solaris 9 branded zone ?
Any help with the issue would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Vanu |

Why would you want to install a version of MQ that is out of support next month? |

I'd ask them what requirements 6.0.2.9 satisfies that 7.x.xx. does not. Usually, requirements are stated as a minimum supported software level, like 6.0.2.9 or later.
Do their requirements also specify soon-to-be out-of-support o/s levels? Like Windows xp? Or elderly database levels? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

That technote is pretty comprehensive, I thought.
It's specific that there needs to be a specific process to install the Solaris patch and specific method to push that patch from the global to the local zone. It is not, however, specific about what that specific method is. You just need to contact Sun for assistance.
Did you install MQ into the global zone or the local zone? Is the zone a whole root zone? |

Solaris 9 is a local zone. I cant see the patch 137111 on the Solaris 9 local zone as it is only applicable for Solaris 10. And the patch is applied on Solaris 10 container. |
