I'm learning MQ and i have a fundamental question, i could not understand in the MQ infocenter.

It says MQ client can be upgraded, to do that read instructions for installing MQ client. (this is my 1st post so i'm now allowed to post a link; apparently)

My question is:
If i want to upgrade MQ client from 7.0.1 to 7.0.8, do i need to uninstall MQ 7.0.1?
on Windows.
on Linux.
on AIX.

Does the same principle apply to 7.0.1 to 7.1?

No you apply the fix pack on top of what is installed. If you had opened the read me file of the fix pack you would know this.

You may or may not remove the previous version (if at least 7.0) if you install 7.1... Read up on the possibility to collocate version 7.1 with version 7.0. This should be under the install / upgrade part of the infocenter.
